Pediatric Compounding

Compounding adjusts strength, form and flavor so a child's dose and dosage form match the prescription.

Children may need a lower strength, a liquid instead of a tablet, or a formula without an ingredient they cannot tolerate.

Pharmaceutical compounding lets healthcare providers prescribe medications customized to pediatric patients by adjusting strengths, changing dosage forms or removing certain inactive ingredients.

Have your provider call our pharmacist at 626.631.6150 to discuss the prescription.

What we can prepare

  • Oral suspensions
  • Customized weight-based dosing
  • Dye-free or preservative-free formulations
  • Alternative dosage forms when tablets or capsules are difficult to swallow

Compounded medications require a prescription from a licensed healthcare provider and are not FDA approved. This page is educational and is not medical advice.

How it works

Step 1

Send your prescription

Your provider e-prescribes to EpitomeRx, faxes the prescription to 626.631.6151, or calls it in. Already have a prescription elsewhere? We can transfer it.

Step 2

We review and call you

A pharmacist checks the prescription for accuracy and formulation needs, then we call you to confirm details, pricing, timing and delivery. Payment is collected before we compound.

Step 3

We compound it

Your medication is prepared in our Arcadia laboratory to your provider's exact instructions and checked before it is dispensed.

Step 4

Delivered to your door

We ship anywhere in California. Local pickup in Arcadia is available by calling ahead.
