How to use your metered-dose dispenser

Your hormone cream comes in a metered-dose dispenser, which measures each dose for you. Each click is 0.25 mL, so 4 clicks equal 1 mL. Your label tells you how many clicks to use.

Each dose

  1. Remove the cover. Give it a light counterclockwise twist and pull while holding the barrel.
  2. Turn the dosing knob in the direction of the arrow and count your prescribed clicks. Stop with the knob locked on a click, not between two clicks.
  3. Check the applicator cap. You should see cream come out of the holes on top.
  4. Apply to clean, dry skin where your provider directed. Rub with the applicator cap until the cream is evenly spread, then replace the cover.
  5. Check the scale. The blue line shows how many clicks are left. When it reaches "Reorder," call us for a refill.

Good habits

  • Let the area dry before dressing, and avoid swimming or showering right after applying, unless your provider says otherwise.
  • With testosterone cream, keep children and pets away from the application site until it's dry and covered.
  • Store at room temperature, away from heat. Don't refrigerate.
  • If the knob won't turn or no cream comes out, call us. Don't take the dispenser apart.
