What is estradiol cream?
Estradiol cream is a transdermal (through the skin) form of estradiol. It is applied to clean, dry skin and absorbed over the day. Your provider sets the dose, often in milligrams per gram, and how often to apply it.
Why compound estradiol?
Compounding allows in-between doses, a different base, or a combination with other hormones in one application.

Compounded hormones are prepared for an individual patient from a prescription and are not FDA approved. FDA-approved bioidentical estradiol and progesterone products also exist; your provider decides which option fits your care.

Common questions
How is this different from an estradiol patch?
