Prescription process
What happens from the moment you send a prescription to the moment your patient receives it.
Step 1: Send the prescription
- Electronic prescribing. See our instructions for sending prescriptions electronically.
- Fax. Fax prescriptions to our secure line at 626.631.6151 with our cover sheet.
- Phone. Call in prescriptions at 626.631.6150.
Step 2: Prescription review
Our pharmacist reviews each order for accuracy, formulation requirements and ingredient availability. If clarification is needed, we contact you promptly.
Step 3: Patient contact
We call the patient as soon as we receive the prescription to confirm details, confirm pricing and collect payment before we compound, and arrange delivery. If there is an issue with the prescription, we call your office for clarification. EpitomeRx is a cash-pay pharmacy, meaning we do not bill insurance. Payment is collected directly from patients.
Step 4: Compounding and quality review
Each prescription is prepared in our compounding laboratory according to state and federal compounding standards. Every preparation undergoes a quality check before it is dispensed.
Step 5: Dispensing and delivery
Common formulas with ingredients in stock are usually ready to ship within 24 to 48 hours. We confirm timing with the patient before compounding. Most orders ship directly to the patient's home in California. Local pickup in Arcadia is available by calling ahead.
